WISS Partner, Jim Duffy, Presents Workshop at FoodBin Conference
Livingston, NJ - James T. Duffy, Partner, WISS & Company, presented a workshop at the 6th Annual Conference of the Food Business Incubation Network (FoodBIN), held October 4-8 in Cherry Hill, NJ. The FoodBIN conference was part of the 12th annual conference of the Community Food Security Coalition (CFSC).
Duffy addressed the impact that the current financial crisis has on the various sources of financing (i.e. private equity, venture capital, traditional bank lines of credit, etc), while providing real-life stories of businesses who are grappling with suddenly limited access to capital. Presenting along with Duffy were Carol Coren and Diana Holtaway from the Rutgers Food Innovation Center.
As Partner-in-Charge of WISS’ Food Industry Group, Jim works closely with food manufacturers, distributors and retailers to provide solutions for the unique accounting, tax and operational issues these organizations face. He is an active member of the New Jersey Food Council and the Food Institute, and also serves as an advisor to the Rutgers Food Innovation Center. The Rutgers Food Innovation Center is a business incubation and economic development accelerator program for small and mid-sized food and agribusiness in New Jersey.
