WISS Named Among Best Places to Work in NJ for 2008

Livingston – WISS & Company, a leading NJ accounting firm, was named by NJBiz as one of the “Best Places to Work in New Jersey.”  WISS placed 12th among the firms being honored in the medium-sized company category.

WISS is committed to creating an environment where employees can achieve their professional goals and find work/life balance. To accomplish this, WISS introduced various and diverse programs over the past several years including:

• WISS University, a corporate university providing training designed to enhance technical skills and fine tune soft skills in client service and professional networking
• WISS Women’s Leadership Forum, dedicated to exploring the unique challenges faced by women in business.
• WISS’ Philanthropic Committee, charged with getting staff to participate directly in the community (e.g., the local food bank and Habitat for Humanity).
• The Peak Performers Program, to recognize and reward employees whose actions demonstrate a sincere desire to improve the work environment.
• The WISS “Phun” Committee, whose mission is to lighten the mood at the office and encourage camaraderie and is run entirely by students. 

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 50 Best Places to Work in New Jersey. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of a survey.  This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in New Jersey with assistance from ModernThink LLC, who analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.
